Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Trathen is a graduate of Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences located in Miami Florida with the degree Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. At the Miami Veterans' Medical Center, he had the privilege of caring for our veterans as he completed an extensive 3-year residency program. Post-doctoral training emphasized diabetic care, wound care, limb salvage, foot and ankle trauma, sports medicine, total ankle arthroplasty (joint replacement), and reconstructive surgery of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. Dr. Trathen also received training in the areas of internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, dermatology, and the medical management of critically ill patients. Dr. Trathens' approach consists of conservative therapies and surgical interventions with an emphasis on preventative medicine.
Dr. Trathens' prior experience includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University, service in the United States Army at home and abroad as a Military Policeman, and 11 years in Law enforcement with the last 5 years serving as a police officer in Fort Myers Florida.
Originally from Northwest Indiana, Dr. Trathen has lived in Fort Myers since 1997. He and his wife Jennifer, who practices dentistry in Lee County, have 3 children. When Dr. Trathen isn't caring for his patients he enjoys fishing, boating, basketball, golf, and soccer.
